Systems Administrator
About this opportunity
We're looking for a capable systems administrator to take ownership of the infrastructure behind a growing ~60-person office. You'll be the person who keeps the servers, network, and storage running — and the first to respond when something needs attention. We'll bring you up to speed on our specific environment; what you bring is solid fundamentals and a steady, methodical approach to keeping systems stable.
Servers & Virtualization
Administer our Linux servers and the virtualization platform that runs the company's day-to-day workloads — provisioning, patching, snapshots, resource allocation, and keeping the hosts healthy. You should be fully comfortable working from the command line.
Networking
Own the office network end to end: switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, and Wi-Fi. Diagnose connectivity issues methodically and keep the whole office online.
Storage & Backup
Manage storage and NAS — RAID health, shares, permissions, and capacity planning. Run reliable backups and, just as importantly, test that restores actually work.
Windows & Accounts
Administer Windows systems and user accounts through Active Directory — creating, resetting, and unlocking accounts, and getting people into their environments when they're stuck.
Stability & Security
Set up monitoring so problems surface before users notice them, respond to incidents when systems go down, and apply sound security practice throughout — patching, least privilege, and disciplined access control.
The ideal candidate
A reliable, self-directed systems administrator with strong Linux, networking, and virtualization fundamentals, some scripting (Bash, Python, or PowerShell), and the ability to learn our stack quickly. On-site, available for the occasional after-hours incident, and trustworthy with deep access to company systems.
